Workshop – Creating a Bird Feeder with Béryl Breuil
VallabrèguesPresentation
Recently settled in Vallabrègues, Béryl Breuil welcomes you to her workshop during the European Heritage Days of Crafts, offering a chance to discover the art of basket weaving.
Description
The craft of basket weaving, well-known locally, continues to preserve the art of weaving plant materials to this day. In her workshop, Béryl primarily uses wicker, which refers to a shoot harvested from a willow tree. There are many varieties, chosen for their properties, color, flexibility, and fineness.
Open to all from 13 years old, these two-hour workshops will be held in small groups (four people), allowing you to discover the joys and challenges of weaving wicker.
During the workshop, you will create a small wicker crown that can be used as a bird feeder (for seed balls), or simply as an indoor decoration or hanging ornament. You will leave with your very own creation.
