Shaping Clay
VallabrèguesPresentation
Immerse yourself in the world of ceramics and learn to shape clay during a unique workshop.
Description
This summer, step into a place rich in history and let yourself be guided through a unique artistic and sensory experience. Set in a former presbytery recently restored and transformed into a vibrant space dedicated to artisans and artists, the CERAM ASTEQUE workshop opens its doors for a moment blending heritage, creativity, and conviviality.
On the program for your visit :
1. Discovering the site – A reinvented heritage (1 hour)
You will begin with a guided tour of the presbytery: its history, its transformation, and the vibrant community of artisans that brings it to life today. A place where old stone meets contemporary creation (the presbytery is now home to a collective of seven artists and craftspeople).
2. Creative Workshop – Hands on Clay (2 hours)
Next, head to the CERAM ASTEQUE workshop, founded by Manon DUCRES, for an introduction to ceramics.
You will be guided step by step to :
* Explore the material
* Learn the essential techniques
* Shape your own creation
A sensory and creative experience, accessible to everyone, where each participant is free to let their imagination run.
3. Relaxed Sharing Time (1 hour)
After the creative effort, it’s time to unwind! Over a light snack or tasting aperitif, we’ll enjoy a moment of exchange:
* Questions about ceramics and the artist’s journey
* Discussion about traditional crafts
* Sharing your impressions and experiences
A simple and warm moment, true to the spirit of our summer gatherings.
4. Visit to the Workshop Shop
To conclude the experience, you will explore the workshop’s collections: functional and decorative pieces crafted on site, available in small series or as unique creations.
About Your Creations
The pieces you create during the workshop require several essential steps:
* Drying
* First firing
* Glazing
* Second firing
They will therefore be ready for collection at a later date, once fully completed (all practical details will be provided during the workshop).
A Complete Experience
These sessions are designed as :
* A heritage discovery of a restored site
* An artisanal immersion in a traditional craft
* A convivial and authentic moment to share
