River cruise at the gateway to the Camargue.
BellegardePresentation
A river cruise at the gateway to the Camargue is an invitation to discover a unique landscape, where water, sky, and unspoiled nature come together.
Description
Let yourself be carried away on a timeless escape blending Camargue nature, heritage, and gourmet moments, in the company of Brigitte and Gérald. Departing from the charming port of Bellegarde, board in a small group for an intimate and welcoming getaway along the Rhône to Sète canal. For four hours, your attentive and passionate hosts will share their love of the region as you drift along the water.
The journey gently takes you towards Saint-Gilles, through preserved landscapes and a peaceful atmosphere. Along the way, keep your eyes open: Camargue horses, bulls, birds, and wild flora reveal themselves throughout the trip, while the history of the canal is brought to life. A stop in Saint-Gilles then allows you to explore on foot the majestic abbey church, a 12th-century gem and a remarkable testament to the former Benedictine monastery.
Back on board, the boat pauses in a natural setting for a gourmet aperitif featuring local flavors: regional wines and fruit juices, traditional fougasse, a selection of cheeses and cured meats, accompanied by fresh vegetables. The return journey to Bellegarde follows, bathed in the golden light of the late afternoon, as the sun begins to set. For children, the experience continues in a fun way with the presentation of a “navigator’s diploma,” a symbolic souvenir of this beautiful adventure on the water.
A rare and authentic experience, limited to just 8 participants, allowing you to fully enjoy the gentle way of life in the Terre d’Argence region.
