Description
Step into Juliette’s workshop, located in the heart of the presbytery of Vallabrègues, and discover the fascinating world of traditional bookbinding through a creative and accessible workshop suitable for all ages.
A professional bookbinder, Juliette will guide you step by step in creating your own notebook. During this introductory workshop, you will learn the basics of Japanese stab binding, an elegant technique that uses visible stitching to bind sheets of paper together. You will take part in every stage of the process: cutting the patterned covers, punching the holes, and stitching the notebook together.
At the end of the workshop, you will leave with a unique handmade creation. Your notebook can then be used for taking notes, sketching, writing memories, or even creating a herbarium.
This introductory workshop is a great opportunity to discover a traditional craft, understand the principles of Japanese bookbinding, and learn a simple technique that you can easily reproduce at home.
The workshop is open to children aged 6 and over (children under 14 must be accompanied by an adult), teenagers, and adults. The activity lasts approximately 1 hour.
The workshop takes place in the shared room located on the first floor of the presbytery workshops in Vallabrègues.
