Description
Japanese Bookbinding Workshop – Create Your Own Notebook
Juliette invites you to her workshop, located in the Presbytery of Vallabrègues, to take part in a hands-on workshop where you will create your own notebook. Through her work as a bookbinder, you will learn how to bind sheets of paper together and make a notebook using traditional stitching techniques.
This introductory workshop focuses on creating a flexible Japanese-style binding with a patterned cover. You will learn how to cut the covers, punch the sewing holes, and stitch the entire notebook together.
At the end of the workshop, you will take home your own handmade Japanese-bound notebook, which can be used for note-taking, sketching, or even collecting and mounting plants in the style of a herbarium.
This introductory workshop will give you a practical introduction to Japanese bookbinding and help you understand its basic principles, allowing you to recreate the technique at home with ease.
The workshop is open to children aged 6 and over (children under 14 must be accompanied by an adult), teenagers, and adults. It lasts approximately 1 hour.
The workshop takes place in the community room on the first floor of the Presbytery workshops.
