Description

Discover the fascinating world of traditional basketry in the heart of the charming village of Vallabrègues, the last basket-making village in France.

The Municipal Basketry Museum invites you to explore an ancestral craft through more than 1,500 pieces on display: baskets, hods, everyday objects, and special creations used for harvesting fruit and flowers in Provence.

Each object reflects the ingenuity and precision of artisans who worked hand in hand with nature.

A 12-minute film enhances the visit, immersing you in the lives of the former basket makers, between traditional techniques and intergenerational transmission.

You will also encounter Vincent, Mireille’s beloved and the hero of Frédéric Mistral’s work, adding a poetic touch throughout the visit.

Open from June 1st to September 30th, Wednesday to Saturday, from 9 AM to 12 PM and from 2 PM to 6 PM.
