Entitled Van Gogh and Women: The Figure of Women in Van Gogh's Work, this lecture invites us to explore the artist's view of the women who marked his life and work.
Van Gogh produced hundreds of drawings and paintings depicting landscapes, still lifes, interiors, and portraits. Women occupy a central place in his work: peasant women, Arlésiennes, members of his family, friends, companions, and lovers all influenced his creativity and his perception of the world. This lecture provides an opportunity to understand their role in his life as a man and an artist, and to discover the richness and sensitivity of these representations.
