New for 2026, the Heritage Education Service of the Beaucaire Terre d'Argence Community of Municipalities is offering a free lecture for those interested in heritage and local history.

Entitled “Funeral heritage, architecture, and funeral rites from yesterday to today,” this conference is being offered as part of the national event Le Printemps des Cimetières (Springtime in the Cemeteries).
It invites the public to discover an often overlooked facet of heritage, at the crossroads of history, art, and traditions.
Through a chronological journey, the conference will address the evolution of funerary heritage from prehistory to the present day, focusing on the architecture of monuments, funerary sculpture, and the rites that accompany death-related practices.
These material and symbolic testimonies recount the evolution of societies, beliefs, and the relationship to memory.
The event is open to everyone: seasoned taphophiles, those who are about to become taphophiles, and anyone who is curious and eager to take a different look at heritage and its many expressions.
